Hello, and thanks for logging onto the Menominee County Great Start Website. My name is Nicole, and I am the Great Start Collaborative Director here in Menominee County. I believe in the future seeds of tomorrow - our young children. What we do NOW for these young kids is what really matters in our community.
The Great Start Project is a grassroots program throughout Michigan. Menominee County is one of the last counties to begin this project. Great Start was established by the Early Childhood Investment Corporation. Its focus is to ensure that all Michigan children get into the kindergarten door - safe, healthy and eager to succeed in school and in life.
Over the past seven months, a very strong, Great Start Collaborative has been developed.The members on this collaborative include philanthropists, business and education leaders, and parents of this community that all believe in the same thing-making a difference for our young children in Menominee County.

Hello, My name is Starr Russell. I am the Parent Liaison for the Great Start Parent Coalition in Menominee County. The Parent Coalition is made up of parents with children 12 years old or younger.
It is very important for parents to be a part of the coalition. Parents are the first and most important teacher in their childrens lives. Parents are the ones out in the community and parents have the power to be heard.
